Limbo of Image, Exhibition, 2023
'Limbo of Image' 에서는 경계 Limbus 의 지점에서 독자적인 작업을 펼치고 있는 15인의 작가들을 소개한다. 이들의 작업은 예술과 디자인, 또는 조각과 기능적인 사물의 경계에서, 자신들의 작품을 다양한 방식으로 정의 내리고 있다. 사물의 쓸모 자체를 작품의 의도를 실현하는 수단으로 활용하거나, 사물의 외형과 형식을 빌려 미적 스펙타클을 만들어내는 등 예술과 디자인의 개념들을 구분 없이 작업으로 끌어들여 편집하고 재생산한다. 이처럼 이들의 작업은 양방향으로 뻗어나가며 자신과의 인과적 고리를 만들어내고, 자신의 작품에서 분기점을 형성하며 불확실한 상태Limbo로 존재한다.
'Limbo of Image' introduces 15 artists who are independently working in Limbus. Their works span the boundaries between art and design, sculpture and functional objects, as they define their creations in various ways. Some utilize the utility of objects themselves as a means to fulfill the intention of their artwork, or others borrow the appearance and form of objects to create aesthetic spectacles. They edits and reproduce their work seamlessly blurring the boundary between art and design. In this way, their works extend in both directions, creating causal links with themselves, forming branching points in their creations, and existing in Limbo.
